Job summary

Sourceable Talent represents a family-owned manufacturing business between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, seeking a Process and Reliability Engineer to own reliability across the operation, including downtime investigations and commissioning of new equipment.

You will lead the deployment of new equipment into live production lines, manage the in-house equipment product line, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, suppliers and customers to ensure continuous, reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Experience in reliability engineering in industrial/processing environments.
• Hands-on commissioning experience with integrating new equipment into production.

Responsibilities

Job description

We're representing a family-owned manufacturing business between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, seeking to appoint a new role to their structure - a Process and Reliability Engineer. This is a broad, hands-on technical role covering equipment reliability, commissioning of new plant, and technical ownership of a growing in-house equipment product line.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of equipment reliability across the operation — investigating downtime, running root cause analysis investigations and managing corrective actions through to close-out — while also leading the commissioning and integration of new equipment into live production lines, working closely with operations and maintenance teams throughout.

There's a genuine product/process engineering component to this role. They are embarking on a new business stream that will design, build and deploy its own specialist bulk materials equipment, to be used both internally and leased out to external customers. This role will be the technical lead on this product line, participating in procurement and manufacture through to deployment and ongoing customer/supplier technical liaison. It's a mix of reliability engineering, process and hands‑on product ownership, not a narrow maintenance role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead reliability reviews of equipment performance — investigating downtime, completing root cause analysis investigations and managing resulting actions
• Lead commissioning and integration of new equipment into production lines, ensuring operations and maintenance teams are fully briefed and engaged
• Maintain asset criticality data, ensuring the maintenance team has the right critical spares and requirements built into the CMMS and is acting on them
• Review asset condition to ensure ongoing business continuity
• Develop and modify SOPs to sustain maximum, reliable performance of production equipment
• Manage change processes and risk assessments across process control changes
• Act as subject matter expert and OEM point of contact on key equipment, and as technical/process lead when production issues need resolving
• Perform process simulations, troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements
• Lead technical deployment of the business's dosing/mixing equipment into the field, liaising with sales, customers, suppliers and contractors
• Lead procurement and manufacture of this equipment to meet business requirements

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in engineering (mechanical, electrical or process) or an equivalent technical background
• Experience in reliability engineering ideally within an industrial or processing environment
• Hands‑on commissioning experience - bonus points for integrating new equipment into production operations
• Experience working with PLC‑controlled and automated processing equipment
• Experience acting as a technical liaison between OEMs, suppliers and contractors
• A genuine hands‑on mindset that extends to customers and suppliers, as well as the plant floor
• Strong documentation discipline - clear SOPs and technical documentation that are easy to interpret
