Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate manufacturing equipment per SOPs and work instructions.
• Conduct regular checks on machinery and lines and identify issues.
• Record production data, temperatures and parameters during shifts.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and areas.
• Quality-check products to ensure they meet standards.
• Respond to alarms and report issues to supervisors or maintenance teams.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures including PPE.
• Communicate production progress and concerns with the team.
• Perform changeovers between runs and batch preparation as required.

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operator to join our team at our Thomastown, VIC facility on a full-time basis. As a Process Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. This position is fundamental to maintaining our production standards, safety protocols and operational excellence. You will be responsible for monitoring and controlling production equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and contributing to a safe working environment for all team members.

What you'll be doing

• Monitoring and operating manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Conducting regular checks on machinery and production lines to ensure optimal performance and identify any potential issues
• Recording production data, temperatures and other relevant parameters throughout your shift
• Performing routine maintenance tasks and cleaning of equipment and work areas
• Quality checking products at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet specified standards
• Responding promptly to alarms or equipment malfunctions and reporting issues to supervisors or maintenance teams
• Adhering strictly to health, safety and environmental procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production progress and any concerns
• Performing changeovers between production runs and batch preparation as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Process Operator or in a similar manufacturing or production role
• Strong understanding of machinery operation and basic food manufacturing principles
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, SOPs and production schedules
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
• Solid knowledge of health and safety procedures and a proactive approach to workplace safety
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work shift patterns as required
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing operational requirements
• Relevant certifications or formal qualifications in process operations, manufacturing or related fields would be advantageous
