Job summary

Australian Country Choice is seeking a practical, data-driven Process Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team at Cannon Hill. You will partner with frontline teams to identify improvement opportunities and help deliver sustainable performance.

With 2–5 years in manufacturing or food processing, you will map processes, conduct time studies, analyze capacity and drive standard work, visual management and data-driven business cases.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Process Engineering.
• 2–5 years’ experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• Experience in process mapping or time-and-motion studies.
• Strong analytical skills with Excel and operations data.
• Clear written and verbal communication and ability to engage frontline staff.

About the role

We are looking for a practical, data-driven Process Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team at Cannon Hill. Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, you will partner with frontline teams, supervisors, engineering, quality, safety and operational leaders to identify improvement opportunities, remove process constraints and help deliver sustainable operational performance.

• Map current and future-state processes and validate workflows with the people who perform and own the work.
• Conduct time studies, work sampling and time-and-motion analysis to establish reliable cycle-time, labour and utilisation baselines.
• Analyse capacity, constraints, throughput, line balance, downtime and work allocation to identify practical improvement options.
• Support structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to address recurring losses and confirm action effectiveness.
• Develop standard work, process controls and visual management that are understood, followed and sustained.
• Prepare clear business cases, reports and visualisations that explain problems, options, benefits, costs, risks and implementation requirements.
• Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, quality, safety, finance and people teams to support trials, implementation planning and change adoption.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, food processing, FMCG or another operational environment.
• Experience in process mapping, process analysis, work measurement or time-and-motion studies.
• Strong analytical skills, including confidence working with Microsoft Excel and operational data.
• Ability to interpret cycle time, capacity, constraints, productivity and operational performance.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging frontline employees and operational leaders.
• A practical continuous improvement mindset and the ability to influence through facts, collaboration and clear communication.

Highly regarded

• Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Total Productive Maintenance experience.
• Exposure to OEE, value stream mapping, standard work, line balancing or loss analysis.
• Power BI or similar data visualisation capability.
• Experience in meat processing, food manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience facilitating workshops or supporting structured project delivery.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Visio or equivalent process-mapping software.
