Job summary

Allianz Australia is seeking a Privacy Manager to lead and enhance the Privacy Program in Sydney. You will manage privacy risk, policies and incidents, while advising business units and promoting privacy maturity across the organisation.

You will collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Cybersecurity teams, ensuring governance and regulatory obligations are met. A tertiary qualification and privacy certifications are highly regarded, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with privacy certifications such as CIPP or CIPM will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in privacy risk and compliance, ideally within insurance or a complex financial services organisation.
  • Proven capability to assist in the development, management and enhancement of a Privacy Compliance Program and improve organisational privacy maturity.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management, privacy obligations, controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience creating privacy-related policies, procedures, training, awareness materials and practical guidance for business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage audiences at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation, regulatory requirements and risk information, and translate them into practical business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support and continuously improve Allianz's Privacy Compliance Program, including privacy policies, procedures, controls, obligations management, and incident management.
  • Provide expert privacy risk and compliance advice to business divisions and assist with privacy impact and risk assessments.
  • Promote privacy awareness and capability across the business through training, workshops, guidance materials, and support for the Privacy Champions network.
  • Manage privacy incidents and data breaches, including assessments, investigations, remediation activities, and regulatory notifications.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on privacy compliance, risks, controls, and performance, providing insights to executives, the Board, and Allianz Group as required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and regulators to strengthen Allianz's privacy framework and ensure ongoing compliance with privacy obligations.

About the role

The Privacy Manager will be responsible for supporting the ongoing delivery and enhancement of Allianz Australia's Privacy Program. This includes maintaining and improving privacy risk and compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and obligations management, monitoring and reporting on program compliance, supporting regulatory interactions, and assisting with privacy incident and data breach management.
