Job summary

Fraser Lever Pty Ltd in Brisbane region seeks an experienced structural engineer to lead design directions from concept through construction support, based in Yeerongpilly.

You will review calculations, mentor engineers, coordinate interfaces, and provide client-facing, commercially practical advice while strengthening technical assurance on mine and industrial infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
• RPEQ registration in the relevant area; Chartered status is highly regarded.
• Substantial capability in resources or industrial structural design, condition assessment and rehabilitation, including brownfield upgrades and existing-plant constraints.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural technical direction from concept and existing-plant assessment through detailed design and construction support.
• Review and approve calculations, models, drawings and reports within your competence and agreed authority, documenting assumptions, checks and deviations.
• Guide designs, site inspections and rehabilitation recommendations for industrial structures, plant supports, equipment structures and mine infrastructure.
• Maintain practical discipline methods, specifications and review tools; integrate Safety in Design and coordinate mechanical and other discipline interfaces.
• Mentor engineers, resolve complex technical queries and support scopes, engineering estimates, schedules and client discussions.

The opportunity

This is a technical leadership role for an experienced structural engineer who can establish sound design approaches, challenge assumptions and give clients confidence in engineering decisions. Based in Yeerongpilly, you will work with discipline leads and company leadership to strengthen technical assurance, develop capability and support project delivery.

What you’ll bring

• Sound first-principles judgement, knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and practical proficiency in SpaceGASS, Strand7 or equivalent structural analysis tools.
• The ability to lead independent technical reviews, mentor engineers and communicate clear, commercially practical advice to clients and contractors.
