Job summary

Davidson is seeking a Principal Spatial Administrator in Brisbane to own the day-to-day management, optimisation and integrity of a large enterprise GIS. This hands-on, senior role requires deep ESRI ArcGIS expertise and the ability to lead across enterprise platforms, spatial databases and web delivery systems.

Based in Strathpine with hybrid work 2-3 days on-site, you will oversee GIS platforms, data integrity, performance, security and advanced spatial analysis, while guiding improvements

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in GIS, CS or information management or equivalent experience.
• Extensive Enterprise GIS administration experience with ESRI platforms.
• Strong scripting and data management skills across Python/SQL/Arcade.

Responsibilities

$62p/h + Superannuation

The Opportunity

Join a large, complex local government environment as a Principal Spatial Administrator, taking ownership of the day-to-day management, optimisation and integrity of an enterprise Geographic Information System. This is a hands-on senior technical role suited to an experienced GIS professional with deep ESRI ArcGIS expertise who can manage enterprise platforms, spatial databases and web delivery systems while providing technical leadership across complex GIS matters.

About the Role

This position will sit within the Enterprise Applications team and provide senior technical oversight across the organisation's GIS environment.

• Manage and optimise enterprise GIS platforms and spatial data.
• Install, configure and maintain GIS platforms, web portals and mobile mapping applications.
• Monitor GIS system performance, health, backups and security and resolve complex issues.
• Maintain spatial data integrity, metadata, database design, quality standards and controls.
• Deliver advanced spatial analysis, modelling, reporting and data visualisation.
• Identify and implement GIS enhancements and continuously improve spatial services.

About You

You will be a technically strong GIS professional with substantial enterprise administration experience rather than someone whose background is primarily spatial analysis or mapping.

• Expert knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
• Strong practical experience with FME in enterprise GIS environments.
• Experience managing GIS databases, spatial data and web delivery systems.
• Strong scripting/programming capability across Python, SQL and/or Arcade.
• Advanced knowledge of spatial analysis, data modelling, cartography and visualisation.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and competing-priority management skills.

A relevant degree in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Information Management or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
