Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Institutional Lending Platforms. You will lead technical direction, architecture, and modernization across Lending, Pricing and ESG platforms, driving secure, scalable services and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Work closely with product, architecture, risk and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes while mentoring engineers and delivering resilient, high-impact lending technology.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams delivering lending, pricing or ESG platform capabilities.
• Strong background in modern cloud-native architectures and secure software delivery.
• Proven ability to drive platform modernization and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction for strategic Lending, Pricing and ESG platforms.
• Provide architectural leadership across core Lending platforms and integration ecosystem.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient services across APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure technology supports customer outcomes.
• Mentor senior engineers and uplift engineering capability across the crew.
