Talis Consultants is seeking an experienced Waste Engineer to join the Waste Infrastructure team in our Leederville Office. This permanent full-time role offers diverse projects in waste management infrastructure design and delivery.

You will provide technical input on landfill design, transfer stations and recycling facilities, perform feasibility studies, and coordinate planning approvals. The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience, a Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical degree, strong

• Degree in Civil, Environmental or Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in waste management infrastructure or similar design projects.
• Construction quality assurance and superintendent experience for landfills or similar facilities.
• Technical involvement in earthworks, roads, drainage and other public works projects.
• Experience in project management and managing staff.
• Ideally experience in hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations.
• Excellent reporting and communication skills.
• Strong AutoCAD appreciation and similar packages.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical input on landfill design projects, including basal lining systems, leachate, gas and surface water management systems, closure and capping systems, and capacity modelling and phasing plans.
• Contribute to the design and delivery of Waste Transfer Stations and Recycling Facilities, including civil designs, structures, drainage systems, and traffic management systems.
• Undertake feasibility studies, business cases, and financial modelling for waste infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical input into planning, environmental and regulatory approvals processes.
• Coordinate and oversee field investigations, including site inspections, geotechnical investigations, data interpretation, and stability risk assessments.
• Prepare high-quality design and construction documentation, including technical specifications, bills of quantities, designer's risk assessments, and Construction Quality Assurance plans.
• Manage and support the procurement and tendering of construction works, including local government procurement processes.
• Participate in tender evaluations, contractor selection, and contract administration activities.
• Undertake construction quality assurance, site inspections, and superintendent representative responsibilities during project delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.

Due to continued growth, Talis Consultants is seeking an experienced Waste Engineer to join the Waste Infrastructure team in our Leederville Office. This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering the chance to work on diverse and interesting projects in waste management infrastructure design and delivery.

Key responsibilities

About you

Civil / Environmental / Geotechnical Engineering degree or similar.

5+ years' experience on waste management infrastructure or similar design projects.

Experience in project management and managing staff.

Ideally experience in hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations.
