Job summary

Viva Energy in Geelong, VIC, is seeking a Principal Process Engineer with a strong background in refinery operations. You will provide technical leadership across process technologies to optimise safety, reliability and profitability while adhering to HSSE standards.

The role requires deep knowledge of oil refining, fired equipment design and risk management to ALARP, plus experience as a process engineering signatory and HAZOP leader, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering qualification, usually chemical engineering.
• Deep understanding of continuous process plant operations in oil refining.
• Experience with fired equipment design, safeguarding and safety.
• Strong risk assessment and decision making to ALARP.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to process technologies in the refinery.
• Lead problem solving for complex process issues to optimise safety and profitability.
• Support management as technical advisor and ensure HSSE compliance.
• Serve as process engineering assurance signatory and possible HAZOP leader.
