The team works across BHP’s portfolio, partnering with senior stakeholders to frame decisions, challenge assumptions and clearly communicate the value, risks and trade-offs of material business decisions.

Investment Evaluation is part of the Portfolio Strategy and Development (PS&D) global function, which also includes Asset Business Development, Corporate Development and M&A, Corporate Planning, and Strategy & Market Intelligence.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will bring strong analytical capability, commercial judgment and the confidence to influence business decisions. You will be comfortable working through complex problems, testing assumptions and communicating clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.

You will ideally bring:

  • Strong critical reasoning skills, including the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and apply them to commercial decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise recommendations.
  • Confidence to work independently and with cross-functional teams, including challenging assumptions and influencing thinking.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under time pressure.
  • Experience in resources, manufacturing or another process-driven industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A relevant undergraduate degree; postgraduate finance qualifications would be viewed favourably.

The application period closes on Friday, 30 October.
