Douglas Shire Council is seeking a seasoned Principal Project Manager to lead the infrastructure delivery function. You will manage multiple projects, guide a team of project managers, and ensure delivery aligns with budgets, timeframes and quality standards for the community.

You will work with the leadership team, contractors and government agencies to deliver capital works that renew and improve roads, facilities and services across the Douglas Shire.

Qualifikationen

• Experienced project management professional with strong technical and commercial capability.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of delivering complex projects from initiation to handover.
• Experience in developing, implementing and improving project management frameworks, systems, processes and controls.
• Experience in leading, mentoring and developing project delivery staff.
• Knowledge of governance, risk management, financial management, procurement and contract administration.

Douglas Shire Council is seeking an experienced PrincipalProject Manager to assist the Manager Infrastructure Planning and Deliveryin delivery of Council's projects, ensuring they are delivered safely,efficiently and in accordance with approved budgets, timeframes and qualityrequirements.

This is a senior project management role combininghands-on project delivery, team leadership and assisting in managing Council'sproject portfolio. You will lead projects through multiple phases of deliverywhile providing guidance and support to project managers and other teammembers.

As a key member of Council's infrastructuredelivery function, you will help coordinate workloads, monitor projectperformance, manage risks and resolve delivery issues. You will also supportthe development of consistent project management practices, strengthengovernance and reporting, and ensure projects meet Council's operationalrequirements, funding obligations and community expectations.

Working closely with Council's leadership team,internal departments, contractors, consultants, government agencies and thecommunity, you will play an important role in delivering Council's capitalworks program and other projects that maintain, renew and improveinfrastructure and services across the Douglas Shire.

About You

We are looking for an experienced projectmanagement professional who combines strong technical and commercial capabilitywith proven leadership skills. You will be confident managing multipleprojects, supporting and developing project delivery staff, and takingaccountability for project performance and outcomes.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor's degree inEngineering, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline; ora Diploma, Certificate IV in Project Management Practice, or an equivalentqualification.
• Demonstrated experience andsuccess in managing complex projects from initiation and planning throughto completion and handover.
• Demonstrated experience indeveloping, implementing and continuously improving project managementframeworks, systems, processes and controls.
• Demonstrated experience inleading, supervising, mentoring and developing project delivery staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge andexperience in project management, governance, risk management, financialmanagement, procurement and contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability toplan, coordinate and monitor multiple concurrent projects, allocateresources and effectively manage competing priorities and timeframes.
• Well-developedcommunication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including theability to clearly communicate information and establish and maintaineffective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated stakeholderengagement, negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability towork collaboratively with contractors, consultants, government agencies,Council staff and the community to achieve positive outcomes.
• Strong organisational,analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to exercisesound judgement, resolve complex issues and deliver practical outcomes.
• The ability to workeffectively as part of a team, provide leadership and direction to projectdelivery staff, and work independently when required.
