Mable is seeking a Principal Product Designer to advance our multi-brand design system across HomeMade and Mable, with hands-on ownership and decision authority. You’ll shape structure, tokens, components and AI tool integration, while collaborating with product designers and engineers to ensure consistency across web and mobile.
Remote from other Australian locations will be considered; most designers split time between Sydney or Melbourne offices and remote work.
HomeMade, Mable, Leap in! and Mable Direct are entities under the Attain Healthtech Group of companies. While our companies are diverse, three similarities bind us:
1. We exist to create lasting, positive change across the entire care and support sector - impacting more lives, elevating standards and shaping the future of care
2. We believe in technology as an enabler
3. We’re driven by helping customers attain better outcomes
This position is part of the Mable team.
Mable is one of Australia's leading and fastest-growing healthtech platforms. As a purpose-driven company, we are where thousands of people with disability and older Australians have connected with independent support workers of their choosing and on terms that suit them.
With more than 25 million hours of support facilitated since 2014, it's no wonder we have been recognised on the AFR's Top 100, Deloitte Tech Fast 50, were previously awarded Australian Growth & Technology Growth Company of the Year.
By working at Mable, you will join a high productivity and dynamic team environment, leading to meaningful change in Australia's care and support sectors.

We're looking for a Principal Product Designer to take our design system to its next stage across our multiple brands. This is a hands-on role with real ownership; you'll own the direction and be the final decision point for how the system scales across brands and connects into the AI tooling that's becoming core to how we design and build, thinking in systems that work for both designers and AI tools alike.
Most designers work partly in the Sydney or Melbourne Mable offices, and partly from home. Candidates who would work remotely from other Australian locations will be considered.
You'll work closely with our product designers across both HomeMade and Mable and our engineering teams. You'll also partner with our AI platform work to make sure the system is built in a way that AI tools can reliably consume and build from.
You will also be part of the Customer Experience team, working with and receiving support from design managers and other talented product designers.
Own and evolve the multi-brand design system across HomeMade and Mable, making the calls on structure, priority and direction
Design and maintain design tokens, components and patterns that scale consistently across both brands and across web and mobile
Establish and evolve how our design system connects to AI tooling, including Claude and Claude Code, so that AI-assisted design and development can reliably use accurate, up-to-date system components
Audit current component usage across both products, flag inconsistencies and drive consolidation where it makes sense
Write clear documentation and usage guidelines that make the system easy to adopt, for both designers and engineers
Partner closely with engineers to make sure design and code stay in sync, and that components are implemented and quality checked properly
Set and uphold governance for the design system, so it stays consistent as more people contribute to and use it
Lead the Design System Guild, a cross-functional group of product designers and engineers, to drive shared ownership and keep the system evolving with input from the people actually using it
Champion accessibility as a baseline, designing and documenting to WCAG 2.2 AA standards
Advocate for the design system's value across the org, and help other designers understand how to use and contribute to it well
Continuously improve the system based on feedback, usage data and how AI-assisted workflows are actually being used in practice
