KBR in Sydney seeks a Maritime & Coastal Engineer to lead the delivery of complex maritime infrastructure projects across Australia and APAC. You will guide design teams, manage scope, budgets and quality, and mentor engineers while engaging clients and stakeholders.

You will bring Chartered Engineer eligibility, broad maritime expertise, and a hands-on approach to innovation, digital engineering, and cross-border collaboration within a consulting environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Extensive experience within maritime and coastal engineering.
  • Experience across maritime structures, coastal modelling, dredging.
  • Strong project leadership and project management experience.
  • Experience delivering engineering projects within a consulting environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer status (Engineers Australia).
  • RPEQ accreditation, or the ability to obtain accreditation within an agreed timeframe.
  • Experience with Strand7, SPACE GASS, OPTIMOOR, Delft3D or MIKE software.
  • Proposal preparation and bid management.
  • Digital engineering, data analytics, automation or AI applications within infrastructure and engineering environments.

We are seeking a Maritime & Coastal Engineer, to join a highly regarded engineering team in Sydney, leading the delivery of complex maritime infrastructure projects while helping shape the future direction of the maritime business across Australia and the broader APAC region.

This is an opportunity to combine technical excellence, project leadership, mentoring, innovation, and client engagement within a collaborative environment that delivers high-profile port, coastal, marine and waterfront infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the design and delivery of maritime and coastal engineering projects
  • Managing project scope, schedules, budgets and technical quality outcomes
  • Providing technical oversight and review of engineering designs and documentation
  • Developing and mentoring engineers across the broader maritime team

About You

You will be a recognised maritime engineering professional with strong technical capability, leadership experience and a passion for mentoring and developing others. You'll likely bring:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Extensive experience within maritime and coastal engineering
  • Experience across one or more of the following areas: Maritime structures, Coastal modelling, Dredging
  • Strong project leadership and project management experience
  • Experience delivering engineering projects within a consulting environment
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer status (Engineers Australia)
  • RPEQ accreditation, or the ability to obtain accreditation within an agreed timeframe.
