Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Principal Engineer (Full Stack - Java) based on the Gold Coast to lead hands-on technical direction across customer communications platforms. You will shape architecture, drive engineering standards and partner with multiple squads in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on full-stack engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot and TypeScript.
• Experience building large-scale distributed enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven and API-first architectures.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for Communication Intelligence across platforms.
• Shape architecture, engineering practices and platform services.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, Data, Cyber, Risk and Architecture teams.
• Drive AI/automation opportunities to improve productivity and delivery.
