Job summary

Core-EP seeks a Principal Environmental Scientist (Technical) to act as a senior technical authority across environmental projects in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide. This on-site, full-time role focuses on complex assessment and remediation in contaminated land, landfill, vapour and ground gas, with final sign-off on key deliverables.

Qualifications

• Senior-level environmental consulting experience with a strong track record in complex assessment and remediation work.
• In-depth understanding of Australian Standards, guidelines and environmental legislation.
• Proven ability to review and sign-off on complex deliverables.
• Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgement.
• Clear communication to clients, regulators and colleagues; mentoring and developing others.
• Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex environmental investigations across contaminated land, landfill rehabilitation, vapour and ground gas, and environmental compliance projects.
• Provide final technical review and sign-off on reports, proposals and deliverables.
• Design and apply innovative assessment and remediation approaches across multiple environmental disciplines.
• Act as the go-to technical authority for specialist disciplines and set best-practice methods, tools and standards.
• Mentor and coach scientists on difficult technical problems and help build capability across the business.
• Identify technical and commercial risks on projects and advise on mitigation.
• Support client engagement on complex matters and contribute technically to proposals.
• Champion safe work practices, quality and continuous improvement.
