Job summary

Beveridge Williams in NSW is seeking a Senior or Principal Environmental Scientist/Engineer to lead the growth of our contamination consultancy across the region. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering contamination projects while collaborating with a national team.

You will manage client relationships, mentor staff, and contribute to business development across greenfield and brownfield sites, supported by an established, employee-owned firm.

The Opportunity

Beveridge Williams is expanding its Environmental team in New South Wales and we're looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Environmental Scientist / Engineer to help lead the next stage of our growth.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of Australia's largest multidisciplinary development and infrastructure consultancies and play a key role in establishing and growing our contamination consulting capability in NSW. You'll have the backing of a highly experienced national team while enjoying the autonomy and influence that comes from joining a growing business at an exciting point in its journey.

With offices in Sydney CBD and Western Sydney (Oran Park), this role offers flexibility, career progression, and you will get the autonomy and influence of shaping a growing contamination consulting practice, fully backed by an established, 130 person business in NSW and over 400 people nationally. With an already established pipeline of work in NSW, you won’t be starting from scratch and will be supported by our highly experienced Victorian environmental team (boasting 40+ years of combined Principal experience) who are ready to assist with project delivery, mentoring, and business development.

This position offers the chance to:

• Lead and deliver contamination assessment and remediation projects across NSW.
• Develop and grow client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
• Private as well as local government and state government projects
• Work across a diverse portfolio of greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Mentor and develop junior environmental professionals.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, surveyors and project managers.
• Help establish and grow Beveridge Williams' contamination consulting presence in NSW.
• Contribute to strategic planning, team growth and service expansion.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

• 8+ years' experience in land contamination consulting.
• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking and managing contamination assessments and remediation projects.
• Strong experience with field investigations including:
• Soil sampling
• Groundwater monitoring and sampling
• Remediation and validation programs
• Experience across both greenfield and brownfield developments.
• A well-developed professional network of clients, industry contacts and referral sources within NSW.
• Proven business development capability and a genuine interest in growing a client portfolio.
• Strong project management, financial management and commercial skills.
• High-level verbal, written and presentation skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with clients, regulators and project stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capability to mentor staff and contribute to team leadership.
• Certified Environmental Practitioner - Site Contamination (CEnvP-SC) accreditation or equivalent.
• Experience working on projects subject to environmental audit processes.
• Existing relationships within the property, infrastructure, government or development sectors.
