Job summary

Endeavour Energy is seeking a Principal Engineer – Future Energy Planning in NSW to provide technical leadership across network planning. You will guide investigations into DER, electrification, batteries, EV charging and data centres, translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations.

You will mentor engineers, review planning work, and influence decision-making with clear, evidence-based advice, shaping how the network evolves with the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in distribution planning and connection assessments for DER, electrification and large loads.
• Strong principal-level engineering judgement to independently structure investigations and provide defensible recommendations.
• Proven ability to lead engineering studies and power system modelling using established tools.
• Experience in mentoring engineers, guiding peer reviews and uplifting technical capability.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex analysis into clear options and risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide principal-level technical leadership and mentoring to engineers in Future Energy Planning.
• Act as senior technical escalation point for complex network planning activities.
• Lead and peer-review planning assessments, connection support material and engineering recommendations.
• Lead complex distribution planning investigations involving DER, electrification, batteries, EV charging and large loads.
• Undertake power system studies covering load growth, voltage, thermal performance and hosting capacity.
• Provide input into connection assessments and network capacity reviews with clear options and risks.
