Job summary

LAB3 in Canberra is seeking Expressions of Interest for NV1 security cleared Principal Engineers with deep Azure Cloud and DevOps experience to lead, deliver and support technical solutions for client engagements.

The role offers opportunities for permanent or contract work with flexible remote/hybrid arrangements and a focus on modern cloud patterns, architecture reviews, and client collaboration.

Qualifications

• IaC – Terraform and PowerShell required.
• Azure Resource Manager templates (ARM) and Bicep.
• Azure Security Centre Operations experience.
• PowerShell module creation and management.
• Experience with Open-source containers (AKS/Kubernetes) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers for Azure assessments, solutions and implementations for client engagements.
• Provide architectural reviews and SME support for engagements.
• Translate client requirements into effective cloud solutions.
• Present discoveries to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, estimating and delivery.
• Support pre-sales with design docs and POC prototypes.
• Identify insights via workshops and reports.
• Run cloud adoption workshops with customers.
• Recommend client value creation initiatives and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.

Lab3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Modern Apps & Integration, Security , andNetwork services.

We are accepting Expressions of Interest for a NV1 security cleared Principal Engineers , ideally based in Canberra, with deep experience in Azure Cloud & DevOps tolead, deliver and support the execution of technical solutions that meet our clients’needs. We are open to permanent and contract employees- with multiple roles open, we are likely to take a mix of both.

Please note that this is not yet a live role (but is likely to become one soon) , so delays in screening may occur.

The role

• Actas the lead Engineerfor technical client engagements in deliveringand overseeing Azure assessments, solutions, and implementations forour client(s)
• Engineer, advise and implementon appropriate state-of-the-art technical patterns on Azure
• Provide technical reviews on architecture and design deliverables whilst supporting engagements as a SME.
• Participate in the consultation between LAB3 and clients to understand strategic business requirements and translate those into effective cloud solutions.
• Communicate and present discoveries to senior management and executive stakeholders
• Partner with the Project Managers to provide technical input into scheduling, estimating activities and project delivery
• Support our pre‑sales teams with documentation, design and transformative direction. Help setup proof‑of‑concept prototypes
• Identify , interpret, and communicate meaningful insights via workshops, presentations, and reports
• Run workshops and cloud adoption activities with our customers as necessary.
• Recommend client value creation initiatives and implement industry best practices
• Provide technical leadership and be a role model to the engineers.

The ideal candidate:

Will demonstrate strong engineering skills in the following:

• IaC – Terraform, PowerShell
• Azure Resource Manager - ARM Templates and Bicep
• Azure Security Centre Operations
• PowerShell module creation and management

Experience withOpen-source containers (AKS Kubernetes) is desirable.
