We have a role available for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Defence division and support this contract. This is a permanent full-time position that could be based at any of the main defence bases in the Northern Territory.

Responsibilities

You will oversee and manage all electrical aspects of this contract covering multiple defence bases across the Northern Territory.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing delivery guidelines for the Electrical Operating Authority to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Overseeing all electrical aspects relating to aerodrome maintenance, including inspections, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Coordinating with other engineering teams to integrate electrical systems with broader infrastructure requirements.
  • Overseeing the operations and shutdown maintenance of the high voltage assets and infrastructure.
  • Ensuring all electrical systems are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
  • Performing systematic audits and evaluations of electrical systems and infrastructure across various locations, including remote sites.
  • Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) technical support and guidance to the maintenance and projects teams.
  • Preparing detailed reports on the status and condition of electrical systems for senior management review.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Additional certifications in aerodrome electrical systems or Defence-related electrical systems are highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing electrical systems in a large, multi-site environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing guidelines and standards for electrical systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's licence.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
