Job summary

Coogee Chemicals invites a Principal Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join its Major Projects team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will provide senior technical expertise, coordinating activities from feasibility through to handover and commissioning.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of EIC experience in mining, energy, or process manufacturing, with strong design, commissioning and project delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of EIC engineering experience in mining, energy or process manufacturing.
• Strong capability in EIC design, control systems, commissioning and major project delivery.
• Solid project management skills including cost, schedule and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead scoping and delivery of electrical, instrumentation and control projects across the full lifecycle.
• Coordinate and review EIC design deliverables for compliance with standards and Coogee specs.
• Prepare scopes of work, tender packages and technical evaluations for consultants and vendors.
• Undertake designs, calculations and analyses to support project milestones.
• Manage external design consultants, suppliers and contractors to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Oversee installation, inspection, testing and commissioning per design and verification docs.
• Prepare capital requests, cost forecasts and schedules; report progress to stakeholders.
• Ensure handover with commissioning records and complete as-built documentation.
• Develop and improve EIC standards, specifications and delivery practices.
• Promote a positive safety culture with no recordable injuries.
