Job description

Principal Delivery Sequencing Advisor - Rail Possessions
  • Lead planning of major rail possession programs
  • Corporate CBD Office | Flexible working options

Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

As our Principal Delivery Sequencing Advisor – Rail Possessions you will work within the Customer and Network team and be responsible for coordinating the planning and sequencing of Cross River Rail project works through extended track closures.

You will work across multiple agencies and stakeholders to facilitate planning activities, progress closure proposals through governance processes and ensure alignment with project milestones, while managing risk, issues and competing priorities within a complex program environment.

This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until September 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and sequencing of major rail and infrastructure delivery activities through extended track closures.
  • Work with senior representatives from Queensland Rail, Department of Transport and Main Roads, project teams and construction contractors to plan and deliver complex closure programs.
  • Assess competing project requirements and develop integrated solutions that balance operational, customer and construction outcomes.
  • Prepare governance submissions, business cases, risk assessments and recommendations to support executive decision making.
  • Facilitate working groups and planning forums to progress critical delivery milestones across the Cross River Rail Program.
  • Monitor risks, issues and dependencies and provide advice on delivery impacts, opportunities and mitigation strategies.

About You:

You are an organised and proactive professional who thrives in complex environments where multiple stakeholders, priorities and delivery timeframes must be carefully coordinated. You can bring together technical, planning and operational information, work through competing requirements, and support sound decision-making to achieve program outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience managing competing priorities and coordinating deliverables within a complex program environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical or complex information and translate it into clear outcomes, recommendations and planning activities.
  • Demonstrated experience working within governance frameworks and applying structured processes to support decision-making and approvals.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organisations, project teams and delivery partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead discussions, facilitate meetings and prepare planning, governance and reporting documentation.
  • Experience identifying, managing and escalating risks, issues and changes to support successful delivery outcomes.
  • The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and drive outcomes in a dynamic and time-sensitive environment.
  • Understanding of, or experience within, the rail or infrastructure delivery environment.
