Job summary

National Australia Bank is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to partner with the B&PB Analytics team and translate business problems into scalable analytical products, insights and decision-ready recommendations that enhance NAB's customer outcomes.

You will lead the design and deployment of analytics and AI-enabled capabilities, guide product migrations onto NAB's data platforms, and deliver insights that inform product development and risk management.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering advanced analytics, statistical modelling, or machine learning within complex organisational environments.
• Experience in developing analytical products and models using Python, R, SQL and modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate analytical findings into meaningful business insights and actions.

As the Principal Data Scientist, you will report to the Head of Business Lending Analytics & Data Science B&PB Analytics. You will partner closely with the B&PB business and DD&A teams, translating business problems into scalable analytical products, actionable insights and decision-ready recommendations that improve how NAB serves and delivers for its customers.
