BHP is seeking a Principal Data Analytics professional to set the technical and analytical direction for its maintenance portfolio. You will lead the development of analytics solutions, own data models and governed pipelines, and ensure outputs translate into action beyond reports.

You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and subject matter experts, framing findings in the context of production constraints and costs for senior leadership.

About the Role

BHP's Data Analytics team is responsible for managing critical maintenance datasets and undertaking diagnostic analysis to drive maintenance productivity across BHP.

As a Principal in the Data Analytics team, you will help set the technical and analytical direction for BHP’s maintenance portfolio. You will quantify and assess the trade‑off between reliability, cost and risk. You will do this by leading the development of industry‑leading maintenance analytics solutions. You will own the outcome end to end – designing the data models and governed pipelines the team builds on, defining the standard that analysis is held to, and ensuring findings translate into real‑world action rather than stopping at a report.

You will be a recognised authority on reliability and asset management within BHP, trusted by senior stakeholders to shape their thinking before decisions are made. You will frame maintenance findings against the production constraints and unit costs that govern each asset and translate your findings into artefacts appropriate for senior leadership forums.

The Principal Data Analytics will work collaboratively alongside our team of data scientists, data analysts and business subject matter experts.

About You

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

• Fluency in Spanish.
• Experience coaching and lifting the technical capability of others.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate reliability and maintenance performance with production, financial and commercial outcomes, including maintenance economics, unit cost and value‑driver analysis.
