Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer to join our defence ICT & automation team. You will design, test, and secure ICT systems for national defence programs, collaborating with the global cybersecurity network and blue‑team operations.

We value experience in threat modelling, DevSecOps, and accreditation processes. The role is on‑site at Lane Cove West with clear career growth, security clearances, and opportunities to influence critical defence projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Software/ICT Engineering or Computer Science.
• Must hold Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1+) and Australian Citizenship.
• Certifications in CompTIA Security+, CISSP or similar.
• Experience in ICT security for defence programs; DevSecOps advantageous.
• Knowledge of PSPF, DSPF and ISM controls for accred. and recertification.

Responsibilities

• Design and test ICT systems, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing controls.
• Perform threat modelling and implement mitigations.
• Evaluate and propose new ICT and cyber tools.
• Lead ICT security improvements through automation and policy updates.
• Create/Update ICT SOPs and security management plans; lead accreditation activities.
• Engage with end customers to communicate solutions and influence decisions.
• Coach and mentor team members on cybersecurity designs and compliances.
