Job summary

ETHAN is seeking a Principal Cyber Advisor to shape and execute cyber risk strategy for multiple clients. You will translate complex cyber risk into business impact for boards and executives.

You will lead the development of cyber consulting offerings, collaborate with sales and service teams, and represent ETHAN at industry events, driving growth and trusted advisory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, CS, cyber, or related field.
• Professional certifications in information security management, risk, governance, or auditing.
• Credentials covering major risk/security frameworks and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership to sales and presales teams for client engagement and scope.
• Mentor other Ethan teams on cyber security topics and advisory services.
• Serve as a nominated member in the CISO on Demand team and provide executive advisory services.
• Support design and go-to-market initiatives for Ethan cyber security consulting.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Service Delivery to align cyber capabilities.
• Develop and own cyber consulting service offerings and GTM initiatives.
• Represent Ethan at industry events and conferences.

Job description

This is more than a Principal Cyber Advisor role. We're looking for someone who's going to take on our ethos and help shape the future of our industry. You'll identify, assess and develop effective strategies to manage cyber security risk.

MORE THAN A ROLE

Our role descriptions aren't the norm. You will be involved in:

• Providing thought leadership and supporting the Ethan sales and presales team with client engagement, opportunity identification, proposal development and scope of work definition.
• Guiding and mentoring other Ethan teams – other Cyber Risk Advisors, other professional and managed service team members on relevant cyber security topics.
• Being a nominated member in the Ethan "CISO on Demand" resource team and where assigned, provide CISO level advisory services to Ethan clients who have subscribed to the service. This may include areas such as exec/board level presentation, internal/external audit support, strategy review/validation, thought leadership input as part of business transformation and assisting with various aspects of cyber risk management.
• Supporting the Ethan CISO with design, prototyping and execution of Ethan cyber security consulting go to market initiatives.
• Working closely with the Ethan Customer Success Managers and Service Delivery Managers to provide input to regular client service meetings/quarterly business reviews.
• Collaborating with other Ethan consulting teams to interlink the Ethan cyber GTM and value proposition into broader Ethan engagements.
• Identifying opportunities after delivery of cyber consulting engagements and providing this to sales/sales management teams for further opportunity management.
• Supporting Ethan internal cyber operations team with the identification/uplift of Ethan’s internal cyber security capabilities.
• Engaging with Ethan strategic cyber security partners (vendors and alliance partners) to identify potential approaches to developing consulting services together.
• Developing and owning cyber consulting service offerings.
• Representing Ethan at industry related events.

THE ABSOLUTES-MUSTS

• Sound demonstrable experience information security, IT risk, or cybersecurity consulting in an IT service provider, consultancy, or managed service environment managing multiple client portfolios.
• Track record of delivering strategic roadmaps, strategy reviews, and business transformation guidance.
• Skilled in opportunity discovery, crafting winning proposals, defining precise Statement of Work (SOWs), and co-selling alongside sales team.
• Thought leadership presence (e.g., public speaking, panel discussions, publishing articles, or representing an employer at industry conferences).
• Ability to translate complex cyber risk concepts into business impact for C-suite executives, Boards, and audit committees.
• Experience designing, packaging, and commercializing cyber consulting offerings and GTM initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of cyber risk frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF, Essential Eight, CPS 234) and regulatory/audit compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to coach and upskill junior advisors, engineers, and delivery teams.
• Aptitude for working across Customer Success, Service Delivery, and broader technology consulting teams to cross-sell and link capabilities.

CERTS AND SKILLS

• Relevant professional certifications in information security management, risk, governance, or auditing that demonstrate advanced expertise and executive credibility.
• Current credentials covering major risk/security frameworks, cloud platforms, or technical domains relevant to client advisory services.
