Job summary

Aurizn is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Consultant to lead the delivery of cyber security, assurance, and accreditation activities within Australian Government and Defence environments.

As a senior consultant and trusted advisor, you will provide technical leadership, engage with multidisciplinary stakeholders, and mentor consultants to deliver high-quality security outcomes that support Defence capability and operations.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance (NV2).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting cyber security, assurance, or risk management activities within Defence, Government, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Experience contributing to the development of security and accreditation artefacts.
  • Knowledge of Defence security frameworks and standards, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement activities.
  • A collaborative and professional approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and leading the analysis, design, execution, and evaluation of security activities to meet agreed time, cost, and quality delivery objectives.
  • Providing technical leadership and specialist advice on security architecture, control selection, and risk treatment aligned with Defence security frameworks and standards.
  • Contributing to risk identification, assessment, and treatment activities, with escalation of issues and uncertainties as appropriate.
  • Supporting accreditation, assurance, and risk management activities.
  • Engaging effectively with stakeholders, collaborating within delivery teams, and interfacing with technical authorities.
  • Contributing to team leadership, mentoring, and capability development, as appropriate to role seniority.

The Opportunity

Aurizn is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Consultant to lead the delivery of cyber security, assurance, and accreditation activities within Australian Government and Defence environments.

As a Principal consultant and trusted advisor, you will bring deep cyber security expertise to complex Defence programs while providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to consultants across the team. You will work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including engineering, ICT, project management, and security teams, to deliver high-quality security and assurance outcomes that support Defence capability, research, and operations.
