Job description

Are you an experienced leadership consultant who loves solving complex organisational challenges, building trusted client relationships and creating learning experiences that make a genuine difference?

We’re looking for a Principal Consultant to join Inkling Group and play a senior role in our Leadership practice.

This is a dynamic role for someone who can move confidently between strategic consulting, complex program delivery, client relationships, business development and thought leadership, while bringing the best out of the people around them.

About the role

As a Principal Consultant, you’ll work closely with our clients to understand their challenges and design and deliver leadership, talent and culture solutions that create meaningful business outcomes.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead large-scale and complex leadership and organisational development projects, from solution design through to delivery.
  • Provide strategic consultancy and build deep, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Lead project teams to deliver high-quality work while balancing client outcomes, commercial needs and team capability.
  • Facilitate impactful learning experiences and confidently engage senior audiences.
  • Coach and develop others, sharing your expertise and helping strengthen capability across the team.
  • Grow and deepen client partnerships, identifying opportunities to create further value and supporting new business opportunities.
  • Shape and evolve our leadership offerings, bringing fresh thinking, evidence-based research and market insights into the development of new IP and thought leadership.
About you

You’re a strategic, commercially minded consultant and creative problem-solver who is as comfortable working with clients as you are leading a project team or facilitating a room.

You build authentic, long-term relationships and genuinely care about understanding what matters to your clients. You’re organised, adaptable and comfortable operating with autonomy, and you know how to turn ideas into action.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience developing and delivering leadership, talent and culture programs in corporate environments.
  • Experience leading people and business outcomes within a consulting environment.
  • Strong client management and client retention experience, together with sound commercial acumen.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, storytelling and executive presence.
  • Strong project management, solution design and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine interest in leadership, culture, diversity and inclusion, and professional wellbeing.
  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology or equivalent is preferred.
Why Inkling?

At Inkling, we believe high performance doesn't have to come at the expense of being human. We’re a high-performing business with a courageous culture, grounded in Growth, Authenticity, Connection and Ownership.

You’ll join a team that cares deeply about the quality of our work, the relationships we build and the impact we create for our clients.

The role is hybrid, with a preference for someone based in Sydney.

Some of the benefits you can expect when you choose to grow your career at Inkling Group include:
  • 4 wellbeing days a year on top of your annual leave
  • Team and social connection days
  • Guilt-free flexibility with a hybrid working model
