SA Health - Southern Adelaide Local Health Network seeks a Principal Communications Adviser for the Southern Redevelopment project. This part-time role leads communications strategy, shapes engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and provides high-level counsel to senior leaders during a major transformation.

The role focuses on developing communications plans, managing tools and materials, and ensuring compliance with government and SA Health policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide expert strategic communications advice to executive/senior staff on all aspects of stakeholder and communication activities.
• Manage the development of communication tools in conjunction with internal clients, graphic design and online team for materials such as publications, reports, websites and events.
• Manage budgets and contracts of external suppliers including services such as advertising, graphic design, video production, print and other services.
• Ensure SALHN maintains high standards in relation to government policies and SA Health communications policies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Executive staff, the Minister’s Office and Department for Health and Wellbeing staff.

• Salary $116,089 - $125,490 p.a. (Pro Rata) ASO7| Contract Until December 2027, 22.5 Hours Per Week.

Principal Communications Adviser | Southern Redevelopment | SALHN

This part-time contract role — running through to December 2027 — puts you at the communications helm of transformation. As Principal Communications Adviser, you'll provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, shape stakeholder engagement, and ensure the Southern Redevelopment program speaks clearly and credibly to the communities it will serve. About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, this role is responsible forthe development of effective communication plans targeting internal and external audience groups of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN).

Duties for the role will include:

• Provide expert strategic communications advice to executive/senior staff on all aspects of stakeholder and communication activities,
• Manage the development of communication tools (resultant from plans) in conjunction with internal clients, graphic design and online team for materials such as publications, reports, websites and events,
• Manage budgets and contracts of external suppliers including provision of services including advertising, graphic design, video production, print and other services,
• Ensure that SALHN maintains high and consistent standards in relation to compliance with whole of Government policies and procedures and SA Health’s communications policies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Executive staff, the Minister’s Office and Department for Health and Wellbeing staff

About you:

• Proven ability to write for a range of audiences with a particular emphasis on detail, accuracy and plain English, and to apply highly developed liaison, negotiation and verbal communication skills,
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities,
• Demonstrated ability and judgement in providing strategic and innovative solutions to complex social marketing and communication problems,
• Proven experience in the research, development and implementation of communication strategies,
• Demonstrated experience in market research and the development/implementation of marketing/advertising campaigns and communication strategies,
• Experience in liaising with and providing communications advice to senior executives,
• Experience in leading a team or managing/supervising other communications staff,
• Experience in managing the development and production of communications collateral such as publications, brochures, websites and promotional materials
