Job summary

EDT. is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design capability of a growing, construction-led engineering consultancy in Brisbane.

You will personally develop, review and certify complex civil and temporary works designs while building the systems, standards and team required for future growth. Working directly with the Managing Director, you’ll be a trusted technical counterpart, remaining hands-on while progressing toward leadership and potential partnership through direct engagement

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering qualification required.
• RPEQ registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Proven senior design capability in civil and temporary works.
• Experience with complex construction environments.
• Experience with Tier 1/2 contractor environments.
• Ability to develop, review and certify designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex civil and temporary works design, review and certification.
• Assess constructability, methods and technical risk.
• Deliver projects with excavations, staging, live services, high-risk work.
• Provide engineering assurance, QA and governance.
• Engage directly with contractors, clients and authorities.
• Develop design systems and standards for growth.
• Mentor and build the future engineering team.
• Drive delivery improvements through technology and automation.
