Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Principal Advisor to provide high-level strategic advice on national digital health initiatives, working with senior health executives to shape policy and program alignment in Queensland.

You will develop briefing materials, responses and speaking notes, coordinate stakeholder engagement across government, healthcare and industry, and support committees and forums to deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

Qualifications

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills with ability to prepare submissions and reports.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and consultation skills with senior multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
  • Understanding of national digital health strategies and standards.

About this role
What you'll do

As the Principal Advisor, you will provide high-level strategic advice to senior health executives on national digital health and information initiatives through the analysis of complex issues, research and emerging best practice. You will develop briefing materials, correspondence, consultation responses and speaking notes, and provide recommendations on the alignment of national digital health programs with Queensland Health's strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across government, healthcare and industry, you will coordinate responses to strategic matters, foster key partnerships, and support senior representatives at committees, forums and working groups. You will also contribute to the delivery of the Digital Strategic Partnerships work program, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to provide high quality advice on a range of issues and to prepare submissions, briefings and reports.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, manage and plan personal work activities, utilise discretion, meet deadlines, establish priorities and work as an effective member of a team to successfully contribute to organisational objectives, with the flexibility to adapt to emerging priorities.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation and consultation skills, with proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with senior and multi-disciplinary staff at the organisational, state, national, sector and industry levels.
  • High level understanding of the application of digital health and ICT strategies, policies and standards and their contribution to effective health service delivery in Queensland and at a national level.
