Job summary

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Orange is seeking a dedicated Primary Coordinator to lead teaching and learning in a faith-centered environment. This permanent full-time role commences Term 1, 2027 and includes an initial 2-year Primary Coordinator allowance.

You will work with the Leadership Team to uphold Catholic teachings, support professional learning, differentiate instruction, and build partnerships with families and the wider community as part of the school improvement journey.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to identify staff development needs and support school priorities.

About the Role

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Orange is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join the school community. As a teacher in a Catholic school, you will:

  • Support and enrich the sacramental, liturgical, and prayer life of the school while embedding Catholic teachings, values, and practices into your teaching and interactions.
  • Foster positive, nurturing relationships with students to support their spiritual, moral, and academic development.
  • Create a learner-centred, inclusive classroom environment aligned with curriculum policies and implement quality teaching strategies.
  • Use student assessment data to identify learning barriers and tailor support to enhance student growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contribute to the professional life of the school, and participate in ongoing faith and professional formation.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community to encourage student involvement in the life of the Church and community.
About You

We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:

  • Ensuring NESA and Diocesan requirements are met on a consistent basis
  • In collaboration with the Leadership Team, ensure all classrooms are places where high quality learning and teaching is taking place, including learning and teaching strategies that are based on evidence based practices and are aligned with whole school learning and teaching priorities
  • In collaboration with the Leadership Team, identify professional learning needs for staff and deliver professional development that align with school targets as part of the School Improvement Plan
  • Contribute towards the creation of a climate of belonging and ownership to the school community
  • Support the consistent and aligned approach to pastoral care and behaviour management in collaboration with the Leadership Team
  • Experience and proven record in effective classroom learning and teaching
  • Advanced understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices
  • Aproven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students
  • A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability
  • Effective management of student discipline and related matters
  • A willingness to engage with the Professional Learning Communities program and the ability to work effectively as part of a Professional Learning Team
  • A demonstrated understanding of the Church’s teachings and the Catholic teacher’s role in the mission of the Church
