Job summary

Barrel & Batch is recruiting a Store Manager for its Sydney store to lead daily operations, drive premium sales, and deliver an exceptional guest experience for collectors and connoisseurs.

You will curate a rare wine and whisky selection, manage VIP relationships, mentor a high-performing team, and uphold RSA compliance and premium store presentation. This role offers growth paths to multi-site leadership in a premium market.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years' experience in retail management, ideally within luxury retail, fine wine, or hospitality.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales data, manage wage budgets, and achieve growth targets.
• Advanced knowledge of global wine regions, vintages, and production methods.
• WSET Level 2, 3, or Diploma highly regarded.
• Proficient in POS systems (Shopfront or Lightspeed), inventory software, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store security.
• Maintain premium presentation standards across the store and ensure a high-end customer experience.
• Collaborate with buyers to curate a diverse wine and whisky selection and coordinate with distributors.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a knowledgeable and service-driven team.
• Build long-term relationships with VIP customers and manage a loyalty database.
• Plan and host in-store tastings, events, and visual merchandising aligned with premium positioning.
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws and RSA protocols.
