EssilorLuxottica Australia seeks a dedicated Optical Mechanic to join our Victoria Fit Centre. You will work with precision instruments to assemble, adjust and maintain lenses and eyewear, ensuring top quality for customers.

Fabricate and fine‑tune optical components, diagnose defects, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with optometrists and lab technicians to meet exacting specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience or formal training in optical mechanics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity and precision.
• Familiarity with optical measurement tools, grinding, and polishing techniques.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to upholding the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assemble and adjust optical frames and lenses according to prescriptions and customer requirements.
• Diagnose and repair defects or malfunctions in optical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain precise calibration of optical machinery and tools to ensure quality across production processes.
• Collaborate with optometrists and other departments to ensure seamless fit and finish of eyewear products.
• Document maintenance, repairs, and adjustments in compliance with company and industry standards.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols while working with sensitive optical equipment.
