Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power, part of Questas Group, seeks an experienced Machinist to join their Berkeley, NSW operation. You will work on manual lathes and CNC lathes, producing precision components to tight tolerances while adhering to WHS standards and safety culture.

Key tasks include interpreting drawings, setting up machines, and mentoring junior team members. The role offers structured training and clear career pathways across 37+ sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualifications.
• Previous experience in manual and production machining, including machining large items.
• Experience using CNC lathes.
• Proficient in external and internal thread cutting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine interest in training and mentoring others.
• Ability to work well within a team, autonomously, and unsupervised.
• An understanding of hydraulic repairs would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate modern manual lathes, mills, and other workshop machinery.
• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision components.
• Achieve tight tolerances on a range of jobs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, measuring equipment, and documentation.
• Complete accurate assessment of components and reports.
• Attend toolbox talks and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Perform work safely and comply with WHS procedures at all times.
