Australian Laboratory Services Pty Ltd (ALS) seeks a detail-focused Field Inspector to oversee receipt, refining, weighing, sampling and shipment of precious metals. You will collaborate with clients, field teams and lab staff to ensure secure handling and compliance with regulatory, quality, EHS and client requirements.

The role includes on-site inspections at client sites, inventory verification, maintaining field records, and completing risk assessments to support a zero-harm objective.

Qualifications

• Detail-focused with strong record-keeping skills.
• Experience in field inspections of materials or products.
• Familiar with WHS, SDS and ISO 9001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise receipt, unloading and inspection of precious metals.
• Verify packaging, security seals, markings, condition and documentation.
• Confirm weights using calibrated scales and report discrepancies.
• Oversee sampling, labelling and chain of custody.
• Monitor refining and melting activities against standards.
• Witness melt additions, crucible condition, casting and weights.
• Witness secure packing, sealing, labelling and shipment.
• Perform inventory verifications at client sites and maintain field notes.
