Job summary

ALS is seeking a detail-focused Field Inspector to oversee receipt, refining, weighing, sampling and shipment of precious metals at client sites and warehouses. You will supervise safe handling, verification of packaging and documentation, and maintain accurate field notes.

The role demands strong observation, problem-solving and communication skills, with willingness to travel, flexible hours, and strict compliance with WHS, ISO 9001 and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the receipt, unloading and inspection of precious metals.
• Verify packaging, security seals, markings, condition and documentation.
• Confirm weights using calibrated scales and report discrepancies.
• Oversee sampling, labelling and chain of custody.
• Monitor refining and melting activities against standards.
• Verify melt additions, crucible condition and output weights.
• Witness secure packing, labeling and shipment.
• Conduct inventory verifications at client warehouses.
• Maintain accurate field notes, photographs and inspection records.
