Job summary

Sunny Street is seeking a part-time Practice Nurse to support outreach clinics across the Sunshine Coast, travelling to locations about 1.5 days per week with a possible Gympie clinic every Fortnight.

You will work with the Doctor at outreach sites, perform immunisations, spirometry, ECGs, wound care, and assist in minor procedures and health assessments. Ideal candidates are compassionate and able to engage disengaged patients.

Qualifications

• Current APHRA registration and CPR certificate.
• High level communication skills with patients and staff.
• Compassionate, non-judgemental approach and ability to work autonomously or in a team.
• Experience in General Practice is advantageous.
• Experience with Immunisation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist Doctor at outreach clinics including immunisations, spirometry, ECGs and wound care.
• Support in minor procedures and chronic disease management.
• Conduct health assessments and develop care plans.

Sunny Street service is seeking a part-time Practice Nurse for Mondays to Thursdays.

Sunny Street provides outreach healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and complex vulnerability.
They currently have 1 full time GP within the practice.

The role involves traveling to different outreach locations on the sunshine coast (1.5 days a week) with perhaps a 1 day a fortnight Gympie clinic.
Primarily you will be supporting the Doctor at the outreach clinics, immunisation’s, spirometry, ECGs, wound care, assisting in minor procedures, chronic disease management and health assessments, completing care plans.

This role works with individuals who have been quite often disengaged with mainstream health services.

Essential criteria to be successful in this role:-

• Current APHRA registration, CPR certificate
• High level of communication skills with both patients and staff
• High level of compassion & non-judgemental philosophy
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a General Practice is an advantage
• PC skills (Word, Excel) and previous use of Best Practice would be an advantage
• Problem solving skills & collaborative attitude is essential
• Experience with Immunisation
