Job summary

Department of Families, Fairness & Housing VIC in Mildura invites applications for a Practice Leader in Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making. You will collaborate with practitioners to strengthen case practice, support service delivery, and back up teams.

A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and knowledge of the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle, plus ability to co-convene AFLDM meetings and provide education and consultation to staff and Aboriginal organisations.

Qualifications

• Understanding Aboriginal culture and the legislative, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families and communities.
• Ability to co-convene Aboriginal Family Led Decision Making meetings and provide community education, training and consultation.
• Working with Children Check required.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessment and analysis: provide guidance and coaching to partners and stakeholders.
• Case planning review and case management input for safety and stability of Aboriginal children.
• Critical inquiry: lead planning, review and management of issues in line with best practice and legislation.
