Job summary

The Department for Education, Children and Young People in Tasmania is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support practical learning across Construction and Technology, including woodwork, metalwork and automotive studies. You will assist teachers and students during hands-on activities, prepare materials, and help maintain safe, well-supplied workshop environments.

The role is a full-time position for 12 months, with a start date asap and a focus on a safe, collaborative learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Current Tasmanian RWVP registration (Employment status/ RWVP) required.
• College or TAFE studies in health and/or education support desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students during practical activities in Construction and Technology.
• Prepare and manage materials and equipment for practical sessions.
• Maintain safe, organised, and well‑resourced workshop environments.
