Job description

Silicon Quantum Computing (SQC) is at the forefront of global efforts to build the world’s first commercial-scale quantum computer, while delivering quantum‑enhanced AI and simulation products to customers today.

Backed by over 25 years of technological excellence, SQC is a full‑stack quantum computing company that leverages its proprietary manufacturing process to engineer atomic qubits in silicon with 0.13 nanometer precision. It is the most precise semiconductor manufacturing in the world, enabling systems with world‑leading algorithmic fidelity, and a decisive advantage in the global quantum computing race.

Our products are commercially deployed and generating revenue. Watermelon, our quantum‑enhanced AI system, is delivering superior results on real‑world problems across energy, telecom and finance. Quantum Twins, our simulation platform, provides unparalleled ability to model quantum systems, accelerating molecule and materials discovery.

This is SQC: building the future of computing while delivering quantum impact today.

About The Role

SQC is seeking a multi‑disciplinary communicator who can operate across the full marketing and communications spectrum: from social media and media relations to internal communications and ongoing marketing support. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving, deeply technical environment. You will sit at the centre of SQC’s day‑to‑day marketing and communications bringing our stories to life at global scale across owned, earned and internal channels.

From placing a story with a journalist to generating compelling social content, you will play an important role in how we communicate with the world. This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants breadth, ownership and the chance to build a career in international, deep tech communications. You will report to (and learn from) our Head of Media & Public Relations - building your global network and collaborating closely with teams across the business.

Role responsibilities
  • Support ongoing media relations efforts: drafting press releases, pitches and executive briefing materials, including coordination of media opportunities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of SQC’s social channels: from planning and content creation to scheduling, posting and engagement
  • Develop internal communications to keep our team informed and connected, including internal updates, newsletters and all‑hands support
  • Support ongoing marketing activity, events and collateral, ensuring consistency of SQC’s brand voice across various touchpoints
  • Track and report on the performance of SQC’s marketing and communications function to ensure optimal reach and engagement
  • Support the management of external communications partners and vendors
Your experience
Essentials
  • A genuine interest in technology
  • Demonstrable experience in deep tech, science or B2B communications (previous experience in quantum, AI or an adjacent field is a plus).
  • Strong writing skills with proven ability to distill complex technical detail into accessible messages for a broader audience
  • Experience managing content calendars and the day‑to‑day mechanics of publishing content across digital platforms
  • A broad range of skills and experience with social platforms, media software and the ability to adapt to new platforms on the fly
  • Comfort with responsibility and accountability: the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver at pace
  • Driven by measurable results and continuous improvement
Nice to have
  • Experience supporting executive or thought leadership communications
  • A history of AI implementation to increase productivity and outcomes
  • Graphic design experience to support the creation of ad‑hoc creative materials
  • Familiarity and experience with our tool stack: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva for design, a CMS such as Webflow, and various social media tools
Equal opportunity

SQC is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse perspectives and experiences, and encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every listed requirement. If you’re excited about the role and believe you can contribute, we encourage you to apply.

Export controls

This position may require access to export‑controlled information or technology. Employment may be subject to applicable export control laws and may require eligibility assessment based on factors such as nationality, citizenship, or residency, and, where necessary, obtaining relevant export licenses or approvals.

About SQC

SQC was founded by renowned physicist and materials scientist Michelle Simmons, who pioneered the field of atomic electronics, including the development of the world’s first single‑atom transistor and the first integrated circuit built with atomic precision. Our Chair, Simon Segars, former CEO of Arm, is a leader in the semiconductor industry and was instrumental in developing the processors that powered the mobile computing revolution.

As a full‑stack company with in‑house QPU manufacturing, SQC can design, produce and test new quantum chips in under a week, enabling rapid iteration and a decisive advantage in the race to build the world’s first commercial‑scale quantum computer.

SQC is a high‑accountability environment built on a simple principle: Every Atom Counts. If you’re looking to play a meaningful role in building the next frontier of computing, we’d love to hear from you.
