The Account Executive (AE) is responsible for supporting account teams in daily activities. They will continue to learn Edelman's various consulting processes/approaches and support account teams in the execution of these processes for clients. They will also be expected to upgrade their working knowledge of our integrated practices and products and become more learned in the fundamentals of communication marketing.
An AE will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts. They will embody the spirit of Edelman's values and behaviours and uphold these in all aspects of their delivery.
The immediate mission of this role is to build on the foundations and to demonstrate growing capabilities across the principles of client service and working in a global communications marketing business. The AE will need to be a detail oriented, highly organised, deadline driven practitioner who values team goals but is self-managed and able to work autonomously.
Qualifications
- At least 12-18 months of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
- A demonstrated interest in the technology sector, with a particular passion for B2B and corporate communications
- Basic proficiency with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) and curiosity about how AI can support and enhance modern communication practices
- Strong research, writing and editing skills and the ability to develop media contacts/relationships
- Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals
- Intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients' businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc.
- Fundamental understanding of media outreach assignments and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies
Responsibilities
- Supports team with client service administration and junior consulting requirements across designated accounts
- Demonstrate greater capabilities across research, writing, administrative and organizational skills and strategies to facilitate best results for team and clients
- Demonstrate excellent project management and event management capabilities
- Build on your current network of traditional and online media contacts
- Take ownership of this critical level of account service across assigned clients
- Demonstrates growing knowledge of key client information, including business strategy, industry trends, products and services, key customers, competitors, and the role of AI, innovation, and emerging technologies within the client's scope
- Ensure capabilities across various tools embedded in client service practice
- Demonstrate increased knowledge of social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat, YouTube etc and how they are best integrated in projects and campaigns
- Ensure you follow Edelman's financial policies and processes and that your responsibilities in this area are diligently adhered to
- Contribute to the performance appraisal process for peers, managers and interns
- Supervise juniors/interns/trainees and contribute to buddy and mentor program as requested/advised
- Understand internal operations and inter-team cooperation and always aim to be a positive influence and role model
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement of your tactical skills by undertaking Eli training and seeking other training, including on-the-job training and mentoring

- Ensure you fully understand your KPIs and that you and your line manager are working towards them being achieved in a timely manner
- Participate in new business process including research, audits and preparation of proposals
- Be aware of industry movement amongst clients and competitors and communicate to key people

- Network amongst client groups and relevant industry peers
