Job summary

Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in Sydney seeks a Specialist Engineer to provide expert leadership in power system analysis, modelling, and renewal energy integration. You will shape future electricity strategies, mentor engineers, and deliver evidence-based technical reports for strategic investment decisions.

You will engage with stakeholders across industry and government, driving continuous improvement and capability growth within AEMO and the wider energy sector.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Deep expertise in power system design, operation, and analysis including dynamics and stability assessment.
• Strong knowledge of electricity transmission, distribution, generation and energy markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex power system analysis and modelling.
• Assess future system needs in Victoria and renewable energy integration challenges.
• Provide expert advice informing strategic network and investment decisions.
