Job summary

Hydro-Electric Corporation is seeking a hands-on operator to monitor and optimise Tamar Valley Power Station assets, including CCGT and gas turbines, across a 24/7 roster. You will mentor team members and contribute to reliable energy delivery for Tasmania from the Tamar Valley operations.

The role requires trade qualifications in electrical, instrumentation or mechanical disciplines, with competency in high-risk environments and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a trade qualification in electrical, instrumentation or mechanical disciplines.
• Competency in turbine operations and generator control is essential.
• Experience with WHS compliance and high-risk work environments is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimise CCGT, OCGT, HRSG, WTP and steam turbine systems on a 24/7 roster.
• Maintain safe, reliable plant operations with rotating shifts.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on critical assets.
• Diagnose faults and implement technical solutions.
• Coordinate contractors and monitor WHS compliance.
