Job summary

Power and Water Corporation in Darwin is seeking an experienced Engineer for the Power Services Asset Quality and Standards team. The Specialist Engineer will drive network and equipment standards for a reliable power system across transmission, distribution and remote stations.

You will lead standard development, apply industry best practices, and translate complex engineering challenges into practical, risk-based solutions delivering long-term value to NT communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 year Science or Engineering degree recognised in Australia.
• Experience applying industry standards and technology to power systems (transmission and distribution).
• Experience piloting new technology in a utility environment.
• Strong financial and asset risk management capabilities.
• Advanced problem solving and analysis with Excel or database tools.
• Experience with Safety‑In‑Design, engineering change control and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and drive development and adoption of network and equipment standards for safe, reliable power systems.
• Lead development and adoption of commercial and industry best practices for asset standards across transmission, distribution and remote power stations.
• Ensure standards and technology continuously improve to meet asset objectives now and in the future.
