Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a hands-on BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain BI solutions that empower data-driven decisions. You’ll transform complex data into clear reports, dashboards and semantic models using Power BI Desktop, Service, SQL and DAX.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions, ensure data quality, automate reporting, and optimise BI products throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and maintain BI solutions that support data-driven decision-making across Transport for NSW.
• Transform complex data into clear, accurate reports, dashboards and semantic models using BI tools.
• Translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions and explain reporting logic to stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, automate reporting processes, and improve reliability and maintainability of BI products.
• Experience with Power BI workspaces, apps, scheduled refresh, gateways, permissions and row-level security.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain BI solutions supporting data-driven decisions across NSW Transport.
• Use Power BI Desktop, Service and SQL to create reports, dashboards and semantic models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting logic and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Support data quality, automate reporting, troubleshoot issues and improve BI reliability.
