Job summary

7-Eleven Australia is hiring a Power BI Developer to transform data into actionable insights across the business. You will design and build reporting solutions using the Enterprise Data Platform, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver clear, concise analytics and visualisations.

You will develop robust Power BI models, assist with data quality initiatives, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and security policies.

The role

Our Power BI Developer is responsible for ensuring that relevant insights are conveyed to the business using a suitable medium, and in a method which is clear, concise and easy to understand. You will work with all stakeholders, gathering requirements and delivering insight and reporting solutions through innovative use of analysis and information presentation. Provide expert knowledge and guidance relating to data analysis and presentation. Develop reporting, analytics and dashboard solutions that leverage the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) to provide actionable insights into 7-Eleven’s operations and other key business performance metrics.

We need you to:

• Create functional and technical design documents in collaboration with 7-Eleven and Support Vendor Engineers.
• Lead or participate in functional and business requirements gathering sessions.
• Design, develop and optimise the Power BI models measures and dimensions suited for immediate and future requirements.
• Utilise Power BI to analyse large datasets and present compelling insights in appropriate visual formats – such as infographics, maps and other multidimensional charts and dashboards.
• Supports the development and ongoing execution of the enterprise data quality management strategy.
• Supporting 7-Eleven’s Enterprise Architecture by adhering to architecture standards, patterns, policies and principles.
• Understand 7-Eleven’s Information Security, Identity and Access Management and Privacy policies and is responsible for ensuring that controls are being effectively managed.
• Configuration, data requirements and test plans to satisfy functional unit tests, regression tests and system integration tests.

What’s in your toolkit

• Technology or IT background
• Extensive experience in Power BI or another market leading visualisation tool covering analytics and report development, data model optimisation and the tool administration
• Familiarity with the agile ways and delivery method
• A can-do attitude and good communication skills
