Ellerslie Farms Group is seeking a hands-on team member to assist with the catching and placing of birds, ensuring welfare and efficiency in a rural setting near Millmerran. The role requires very early morning or late shift work and a roster that ranges broadly in hours.
Candidates should be physically fit, capable of heavy lifting, and comfortable working around live poultry. Diesel transport, farm site access, and strict bio-security protocols are part of daily duties.

Ellerslie Farms Group is an agribusiness that operates one of the largest poultry farms in Australia.
We employ over 500 people across our farming operations based at Millmerran, an hour west of Toowoomba in Queensland. Our operations are vertically integrated, covering the entire supply chain from chick rearing, grain production, stock feed milling, egg grading and poultry production. Our layer systems include Cage, Cage-free, Free Range and Organic. We have in-house service teams which coordinate bird vaccination, bird relocation, veterinary and nutrition services.

You will be required to work quickly, efficiently and cohesively within a team environment to ensure optimal bird welfare during the catching and placing of birds.
You must be available for very early morning starts or late evening and night starts, working around the strict requirements for the welfare of the birds. The roster is irregular, with hours between 60 and 80 per fortnight.
Candidates must be willing to adhere to strict bio-security requirements, which include not keeping live birds, chickens or pigs at home. You must be willing to sign our bio-security agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (birds, chickens, ducks, turkeys, etc.).
