Job summary

LPC Trading in Bendick Murrell is seeking a Poultry Farm Hand to join our team. The role covers day-to-day care of laying hens, egg production tasks, and general farm duties on our Bendick Murrell poultry farms.

Qualifications

About Us

LPC Trading operates commercial poultry farms at Bendick Murrell, located between Young and Cowra. We are committed to producing fresh, high-quality eggs while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and farm operations.

Position Overview

As a Poultry Farm Hand, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our farm. Your responsibilities will include caring for laying hens, ensuring a clean and healthy environment, and actively participating in the egg production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Feeding, watering and monitoring the health and welfare of laying hens.
• Monitoring egg production and associated equipment.
• Conducting routine inspections and reporting any issues with equipment or facilities.
• Assisting with cleaning, maintenance and general farm duties.
• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient farm operations.
• Maintaining accurate records as required.
• Following all workplace health and safety and biosecurity requirements.

About You

We are looking for people who:

• Have a strong work ethic and a reliable approach to work.
• Are physically fit and able to undertake tasks involving extended periods of walking, lifting, bending and other physical farm duties.
• Can work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Are willing to undertake a variety of farm duties, including cleaning, maintenance and record keeping.
• Can follow procedures and understand the importance of consistency in maintaining animal welfare and farm standards.
• Have previous poultry or agricultural experience, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
• Have the legal right to work in Australia.

Biosecurity & Pre-Employment Requirements

Due to our strict biosecurity requirements, employees must not have birds or pigs at their place of residence. This is a condition of employment.

Applicants must also be willing to successfully complete a pre-employment urine drug and alcohol screening prior to commencement.

Other pre-employment checks, including reference checks and a medical assessment, may also form part of the recruitment process.
