Qualifications

• a PhD in a polymer/chemistry/materials discipline
• demonstrated experience in polymer synthesis, characterisation and materials analysis
• strong publication record relative to career stage
• experience with analytical techniques such as NMR, SEC, DSC, DMA or rheology
• ability to undertake independent research and collaborate
• excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
• ability to supervise or mentor researchers
• commitment to research integrity and safety

Responsibilities

• conduct independent and collaborative research in polymer chemistry and materials science
• design, synthesize and characterise novel polymers and hydrogels
• analyse data and prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals
• contribute to funding proposals and grant applications
• present research at seminars and conferences
• supervise and mentor higher degree researchers where appropriate
• maintain accurate records and ensure lab safety
• collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners
