Job summary

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group in Warragul, VIC invites applications from Registered Nurses who wish to become Midwives. The program is a paid employment model with course costs borne by the candidate.

You will undertake a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery with Federation University Australia, Churchill, and complete the clinical component at West Gippsland Hospital under the guidance of Midwifery Educators and experienced midwives.

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Completion of two years post registration experience within an acute setting.
• Eligible for enrolment in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery with Federation University Australia, Churchill.

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses interested in becoming a Midwife by undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, through Federation University Australia, Churchill Campus and completing the clinical component of the course at the West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul.

The Midwifery unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group, is a family centered contemporary facility, dedicated to serving the needs of the community whilst always striving for excellence.

The successful applicant/s will gain a broad knowledge base and experience across all areas of Midwifery under the expert guidance of our Midwifery Clinical Educators and experienced Midwives.

This is a paid employment model, with course costs at the candidate's expense - proof of acceptance at the University must be provided.

Requirements:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

Completion of two years post registration experience within an acute setting.

Eligible for enrolment in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery with Federation University Australia, Churchill who have an agreed contractual arrangement with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

Successful completion of all academic university requirements and milestones each semester throughout the course duration.

IMPORTANT:

Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
